The short version. Safe Kid sends nothing off the device unless a grown-up joins Achievement World. If they do, our server stores a random animal nickname, a sticker count and a score. If they also create a certificate, it stores the name they typed. That is all, and leaving deletes it.
1. The app on its own
Safe Kid is made for children aged 4 to 8, so it is built to work without knowing who they are. Until a grown-up joins Achievement World:
- nothing is sent from the device — the lessons, pictures and voices are inside the app;
- the app asks for no name, age, email address, location, contacts, photos or microphone;
- there is no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no in-app purchase.
What the app keeps on the device: which lessons are finished and when, the page a story was left on, the settings in the Grown-ups area, the outfit chosen for the mascot and — only if a grown-up adds one — a phone number for the number-practice game. This stays in the app's private storage, is not included in device cloud backups, and is removed when the app is uninstalled or when a grown-up chooses "Clear all progress".
2. Achievement World (optional)
Achievement World adds a score, rankings and a certificate. It is off until a grown-up turns it on in the Grown-ups area, which sits behind a parental gate. Joining is a decision for a parent or guardian, and by joining you consent to the storage described here.
| What our server stores | Why |
|---|---|
| A random nickname and animal picture, for example "Brave Otter 27". The server chooses it; nobody types it. | To show a child in the rankings without their name. |
| The number of stickers collected, the number of lessons in the app, and the score (ten points per sticker). | To work out the rankings. |
| A random id, and a scrambled (hashed) copy of a secret key kept on the device. | So only that device can update or delete its entry. |
| The dates the entry was created and the score last changed. | To order equal scores fairly. |
| Only if a grown-up creates a certificate: the name they typed, the certificate number and its date. | To show the certificate at its link. |
We do not store an email address, age, date of birth, location, device or advertising identifier, or the IP address of the device alongside any of this.
3. Who can see it
- Rankings are shown only inside the app, to families who have joined. Each row is a nickname, an animal picture, a sticker count and a score. They are not published on this website.
- A certificate can be seen by anyone who has its link. The link contains a long random number that cannot be guessed, and certificate pages ask search engines not to list them. Share the link only with people you want to see the name.
- The people who run Safe Kid can see the stored entries in order to operate the service and remove a certificate if needed.
We do not sell this information or share it with advertisers or anyone else.
4. This website
safekid.tulx.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Like most web servers, ours keeps a short-lived technical log of page visits (address, time, page requested) to keep the service secure; it is deleted automatically and is not combined with Achievement World entries. Requests from the app to Achievement World are not written to that log.
5. Keeping and deleting
- In the app, Grown-ups → Achievement World → Leave and delete online data removes the nickname, score and certificate from our server straight away.
- If the app is no longer installed, see Delete data.
- Backup copies of the database are deleted within 30 days.
6. Children's privacy and your rights
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without a parent or guardian choosing to provide it. A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete what is stored about their child, or withdraw consent, at any time: use the controls in the app or write to hello@safekid.tulx.app.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
